Montreal Fur Trader replica canoes were provided by the Illinois Department of Conservation. Unfortunately the ice flows in the Mississippi River prevented HikaNation from crossing the river by these canoes; the Wittenberg Ferry was used instead.
The canoes were allowed to be used close to the Illinois shore for a "sample" ride.       (photos by William Ewart)
